Ticket #67 – Description
initial v1 2 2 {{{Create process failed; code 740}}} 3 3 This is probably InnoSetup trying to launch the application it has just installed. The "details" on this error are totally unhelpful. 4 According to the [http://www.jrsoftware.org/ishelp/topic_runsection.htm InnoSetup documentation], {{{runasoriginaluser}}} is the default when using {{{postinstall}}}. Why you can install software but not run it is beyond me... 4 5 6 [[BR]] 5 7 6 8 When starting the software, it asks every time {{{Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer.}}} 7 9 Maybe this is the logfile we are trying to open? (it obviously does not tell you anything remotely helpful to diagnose) 10 We do not want administrator privileges! Just the ability to write to our own configuration/data files! 11 The information I found uses [http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb756929.aspx app manifests] to gain full administrator privileges... (typical microsoft sledge hammer defeating security) 12 Or maybe it doesn't run {{{asInvoker}}} unless you tell it to? 13 Not according to [http://py2exe.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/py2exe/trunk/py2exe/py2exe/samples/user_access_control/README.txt?revision=670&view=markup this] 14 [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/195109/running-compiled-python-py2exe-as-administrator-in-vista] 8 15 16 17 [[BR]] 9 18 10 19 The download link for mDNS "Download from apple.com" should popup a browser, but instead you get: 11 20 {{{The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000a5). Click OK to close the application.}}} 21 This one may be resolved with the manifest above... 12 22 13 23 14
