  • Ticket #90 – Description

    v7 v10
1 Looks awfully similar to [https://bugs.launchpad.net/moovida/+bug/233734 this bug]
2 which points to [http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/ticket/3096 this twisted report] and [https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481569 this gnome gobject bug]
1The pygtk bug is [https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=640738 here]
2I had originally created a twisted bug [http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/ticket/4829 here] - but the problem is not in twisted.
    33
44And here is the Fedora bug: [https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=660137 660137]
    55
6Debian already has a patch for squeeze (against 2.17.0-4):
     7[http://patch-tracker.debian.org/patch/series/view/pygtk/2.17.0-4/60_pygtk-wakeupfd-fix.patch pygtk-wakeupfd-fix.patch]
     8
69So, I believe we should just leave it to the distributors to ship patched versions of the libraries we rely on rather than trying to workaround the issue (not even sure it is possible to do so)
    7
8 Added workaround which disables gtk2reactor using {{{--no-gtk-reactor}}} command line switch in both client [http://shifter.devloop.org.uk/trac/changeset/1921 (changeset)] and server [http://shifter.devloop.org.uk/trac/changeset/1923 (changeset)] - probably not worth using as it causes more problems than it solves!
    9
10 I have now created a [http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/ticket/4829 twisted bug] since apparently pygtk/glib have already been fixed so the problem seems to lie with twisted... This was a dupe of [http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/ticket/4658 twisted bug 4658]
