windows Windows

Simply download and run this installer. (US mirror)
The application will appear in your system tray once started. (Windows Vista and Windows 7 may require that you "unhide" it for easier access)
The server is limited to exporting the local display in full, you will not be able to launch individual applications or remote desktops when connected to a Microsoft Windows computer. (you may want to use an online account to connect to a proper server operating system)

linux Linux

Note: KDE users should be aware that there are a number of KDE bugs and issues
Prior to installing the package, RPM users may want to import the package manager's key with: curl https://winswitch.org/gpg.asc | rpm --import -

android Android (beta)

This version is a work-in-progress and is not available through the android market.
You will need to download:

To install these packages, you may need to enable "unknown sources" (in the phone's "Settings" for "Applications")

mac os x Mac OS X

  • For newer Intel based Macs, download this disk image
  • For older PowerPC based Macs, download this disk image (no longer updated/supported)
You can run the application directly from the disk image or copy it to your hard disk.

You can find some (generally old) pre-built binaries here.
Check the build instructions to install from source and also to ensure that all the required libraries are present.

(there are no TigerVNC server binaries at present as it fails to build, but you should be able to use the standard Xvnc server in its place)

java Generic Java Client (alpha)

For unsupported platforms which have access to a Java virtual machine, you can use the Java Client.

This software uses distutils to install, which means that you should be able to install from source on any platform which has the required dependencies.
